How to choose the correct Nexus nephrostomy product for your flexible, wearable, fit.

We recommend people are first assisted to choose the Nexus drainage system that is right for them with the help of a qualified Healthcare Professional.

For someone with a single nephrostomy catheter the starter pack, product code NX1S, has everything they need: including the belt system, which allows them to choose if they want to wear the bag on their waist, hip or thigh, plus 4 bags each individually wrapped in a sterile pouch containing a short and long inlet tube in case they want to adjust the inlet length to suit how they wear the bag.  Someone with a  bilateral nephrostomy (I.E. two catheters) can still use this system, but will require 2 bags, one for each nephrostomy catheter.

For someone with a bilateral nephrostomy catheters (a catheter for each kidney) they need to decide if  they want a separate bag for each nephrostomy catheter, in this case choose NX1S or, if they wish to wear one bag with a ‘Y’ connector draining both catheters into the same bag, choose starter pack, product code NX2S.

Once you have chosen the type of Nexus bag you wish to use  you can order boxes of 10 bags and the belt pack separately to suit your preferences.

All Nexus drainage bags will connect directly to any overnight drainage bags available on UK prescription.  Each pack/box of bags contains instructions for use and there are also animated tutorials on this  website here for your convenience.
